Education Development Programmes in Thiruvallur Government Schools

To improve the education of government school students in Thiruvallur district, the Tamil Nadu government and the district administration have been implementing various initiatives. Recently, School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi inaugurated several education development programmes, which have been warmly welcomed by educators.  

Education Development Programmes: New Classrooms and Green Schools

To create an enhanced learning environment for students, new classrooms have been built in 12 government schools at a cost of ₹3.93 crore. To raise awareness about environmental conservation, the ‘Green School’ initiative has been launched in three government schools. For this, eco-friendly facilities worth ₹8.55 crore have been established.

Modern Learning Equipment

To enhance digital learning for students, smart boards worth ₹2 crore have been provided to 100 schools in Thiruvallur district. A ‘Mobile Science Laboratory’ worth ₹20 lakh has been introduced for school students in the Poondi Union. Through this, students can easily understand basic scientific concepts.

Skill Development Programmes

“Magizh Mutram” Scheme: To nurture the innate talents of students, leadership charts and assessment boards were provided to them.

“Ariviyal Kalam” Scheme To promote basic scientific skills, ‘Ariviyal Kalam’ centres have been opened in five schools across the district. Through these centres, students from 16 schools will benefit.

English Proficiency Development: To improve the English speaking and writing skills of primary and middle school students in the Poondi Union, learning materials have been provided with the support of voluntary organisations.

Learning Guides: For tenth and twelfth-grade students’ exam preparation, comprehensive learning guides prepared by teachers have been distributed to schools.

There is no doubt that all these initiatives will play a key role in enhancing the quality of government schools and enriching the future of students.
