Keeping the future of Tamil Nadu’s youth in mind, our Dravidian Model Government has launched an ambitious flagship initiative — the ‘Naan Mudhalvan’ scheme.

‘Naan Mudhalvan’ – A Proud Tamil Nadu!
With a visionary approach, the Dravidian Model Government led by the Hon’ble Chief Minister Thiru M.K. Stalin has been implementing several innovative schemes to brighten the future of Tamil Nadu’s youth.
Among these is the flagship programme ‘Naan Mudhalvan’ (I Am the First), implemented under the Tamil Nadu Government’s Special Programme Implementation Department, guided by the Hon’ble Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development, Thiru Udhayanidhi Stalin.
Naan Mudhalvan Achievements of the Scheme
Under the ‘Naan Mudhalvan’ scheme: 41.39 Lakhs students and over 100,000 trainers have received training. As part of the initiative, skill and employment centres have been set up in 29 government engineering colleges at an estimated cost of ₹30.17 crore
Through job fairs, 101,973 students have secured employment. Under the ‘Uyirvukku Padi’ (Path to Elevation) programme, 77,752 students have been admitted to higher education institutions. Through ‘College Kanavu 24’ (College Dream 2024), 187,000 students have enrolled in higher education during this academic year alone.
Civil Services Examinations
The scheme has become a beacon of hope for civil service aspirants. In 2022, 36 candidates trained under ‘Naan Mudhalvan’ cleared civil services exams. This number rose to 47 in 2023 and 57 in 2024.
Remarkably, 50 out of the 57 successful candidates in 2024 were trained under this scheme – a monumental achievement.

Naan Mudhalvan Skill Training
Over the last four years, ‘Naan Mudhalvan’ has provided short-term employment-focused training to 259,072 youth across 30+ sectors.
Additionally, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) certificates were awarded to 113,940 workers from the construction, equipment, MSME, leather, and textile sectors.
Uplifting the Marginalised
Inmates of social welfare homes in Chennai, Tambaram, Cuddalore, Sivagangai, Salem, and Tirunelveli were trained in communication, IT, and office management – transforming their lives with skills and purpose.
The scheme has also empowered 15,890 individuals including tribal youth, ex-servicemen, persons with disabilities, and transgender persons, equipping them with skills to succeed in diverse sectors.

‘Naan Mudhalvan’ is scripting a new chapter in the lives of Tamil Nadu’s youth – building a bridge between education and employment and shaping them into confident, capable individuals.
Through visionary schemes like ‘Naan Mudhalvan’, the Dravidian Model Government is ensuring that Tamil Nadu’s future shines bright with hope and opportunity.
