Thulirum Vingyani: A Vibrant Stage for Student Innovations!

The 'Thulirum Vingyani’ science exhibition, which aims to make the dreams of school student-scientists more accessible, was held on July 25 at the M.I.E.T College campus in Trichy. The event was coordinated by News 7 Tamil Television, and was inaugurated and graced by the Honourable Minister for School Education, Mr. Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi.

At this exhibition, school students showcased a wide range of inventions born from their imagination and scientific thinking. Their enthusiastic efforts across fields like technology, environment, agriculture, and healthcare captivated and impressed the audience.

Participating in the ‘Thulirum Vingyani’ science exhibition, Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi shared his heartfelt thoughts, saying, “Whenever I walk into exhibitions like these, I truly feel like a fellow student, learning from these young minds.” 

He also engaged in conversations with the students, appreciated their innovations, and shared in their joy. 

Education is not just about scoring marks in exams!

Speaking at the event, Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi said,

"Education is not just about scoring marks in exams.
It’s about how we apply what we learn in real life
It’s essential to put the theories we read in textbooks into action — both in laboratories and in the real world.

Be it science, mathematics, or social science — true learning happens only when these subjects are experienced through practical application. It is this hands-on approach that helps a student fully realise their potential and face real-world challenges with confidence. 

We need rational thinking and a sense of social responsibility

Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi stressed that students must develop the ability to understand societal needs and create new innovations in response. He emphasised that education should be pursued without bias — from agriculture to technology — fostering both awareness and inclusivity.
